Hi there. I’m Brian, a barbecue and beer lover from Jersey City, NJ. You may remember me from such blogs as Us vs. Food and…well…just that one actually. If you haven’t read it yet you really should. Michelle is a great cook and writer. But come back here when you’re done.
On this site I’ll chronicle my tiny homebrew adventures. I’ve been homebrewing since the spring of 2007 and making all-grain beer since beer #2. However, the interesting thing about my brews, I think, is the size. I typically brew in 2 1/2 gallon and 3 1/2 quart batches where most homebrewers work in 5 gallon batches. Hence the “nanobrewer” in the url. Making a case or a six-pack at a time has its pros and cons and is not without its troubles. To be honest I’m still learning. And now you all get to learn along with me. Or laugh. The choice is yours.
But to make things a bit more interesting I’ll also post my (amateur-ish) reviews of craft beers and brew pubs from around the country. Because let’s face it…my beer is probably not all that interesting at this point. And on top of all that I may talk a bit about my summertime barbecuing escapades. Because who doesn’t like barbecue? Fools. That’s who. Damn fools.
So that’s me. You’re free to leave comments to let me know what I’m doing wrong, ask all the questions you have or give me suggestions on beers to brew or review. I don’t have to listen, but you never know.
Bottoms up!
Brian
